It’s interesting that you read it as fat shaming. I love all my big curvy friends. I probably could have included quotation marks around the word “epidemic” to be more concise. Too bad I’m so lazy and sloppy. :)

I was referencing the term “fat and happy”.

I wasn’t inferring any qualitative judgment, rather just wondering if Americans really have so much reason to revolt when they claim to be in the middle of an obesity “epidemic”  and clearly aren’t starving like much of the world.

Maybe I’ll work on another bad joke about calling obesity an “epidemic”. Seems to me that for the history of civilization, a rotund populace might have been desired as the pinnacle of human achievement.

Maybe “revolution” is for the hungry?
